Hi Scott, According to http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.NSF/0/c4f7a6a5fcdafff786256ba000541696?OpenDocumentPTFs for V5R1 and V4R5 are available -- these PTFs cause it to look at the environment variable. Perhaps after V5R1 the PTFs are no longer necessary.
