IBM Can use the VPN connection now though they seem to ask for *PPP most of the time if available. There are times when the VPN connection fails because of firewall and router issues.

That may have changed with V5R4 but I haven't heard anything about it.

Are you talking about having them get in by using STRRMTSPT type access?
I'm pretty sure i've used that over VPN since we've unhooked out modem
lines from the iSeries boxes.  Not 100% sure, but pretty sure... ;)
