RE: Software or API?

Hawkeye Information Systems has a product called Pathfinder that will show
you all kinds of useful information.  It's fairly easy to use and I believe
it's fairly cheap, especially given the available functions.

Does anyone know of a software package or even an API that could be used to
find from the object of the program what the "Level Check ID" would be 
for files and then be able to check the object description of the files and
see if a program would need to be recompiled?
