Does anyone know of a software package or even an API that could be used to find from the object of the program what the "Level Check ID" would be for files and then be able to check the object description of the files and see if a program would need to be recompiled?
Jim As others have pointed out, DSPPGMREF gets you the format level ID for the file(s) a program was compiled against, and a DSPFD gets you the format level id for a nominated file. Put them together and you get CHKLVLCHK. At least that's what I did :) CHKLVLCHK lets you compare one or more programs in a library against files in the current library list, or that of a specified *JOBD.
