Would V5R3 allow for a smoother upgrade (espcially with the 17 GB load source requirement)? Doesn't V5R3 support SPD? I thought V5R3 was the last release to do do. Don't have a book handy to look it up. -- Justin C. We'd like to do this in two stages: 1) upgrade the 9406-820 to V5R4, then 2) migrate over to the 9406-520 a couple of weeks later. The 9406-820 has a 5035 expansion tower with SPD cards, and IBM says that those cards are not supported for V5R4. Our quesion is, will they still work? According to IBM, the code is still there, so we're thinking they probably will, but we're wondering if anyone else out there has experience with this. Has anyone done this, or do you have theories about whether it should/should not work?
