Without doubt, and HMC in that environment.   Hands down.

LAN console needs to add the security via device and user profiles in SST 
which is the easiest part to mess up.  The HMC does all of that in a much 
more secure and convenient manner.  Plus, you are able to power up and 
down the managed system with an HMC, something that is not possible with a 
LAN console. 

I concur with Justin on this one.  HMC is the best bet.
