The NWSD should restore from your full save along with the NWSSTGs and the only trick would be updating the resource name parameter on the NWSD if it has changed on the new box. "Trevor Perry" <tperry@cleartech nologies.net> To Sent by: "Midrange Systems Technical midrange-l-bounce Discussion" s@xxxxxxxxxxxx <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc 05/12/2006 01:33 Subject PM Re: DR and IXS Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@midra nge.com> David, If the DR IXS is the same as yours (or compatible as a hot spare), then all you will need is for the NWSD to be correctly configured. If not, you may have to create a new one, but that is a snap. You would just have to ensure the RESOURCE name is pointing at the right IXS. Once the NWSSTGs are restored, and the NWSD is correct, link them and vary ON. I suggest you retrieve the source of your current NWSD configuration - that will be good documentation for what needs to be in place on the DR box. Hot spare compatibility is outlined here: http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/integratedxseries/ixs/system_config.html Hope this helps, Trevor ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Charmatz" Subject: DR and IXS >I read through all archived posts regarding DR and the IXS but have a > question on the restore process. > > > > We currently have a contract with IBM to provide us with a replacement > AS400 > in the event of a disaster.
