Walden,I presented a topic on Modernization to a user group last week, and the SOA part was very well received. Most people felt like they understood the concepts better.
Don't confuse SOA with the messenger. There are other messengers out there who understand that it is more than another sales pitch for Websphere software. I learn many new things about it every day, but it requires lots of translation of your own.

>Even the best SOA thinkers have complicated the process. No argument there. LISUG, our local user group, had Leonardo Llamas from IBM Rochester speak on SOA in February; Leonardo had spoken to us back in 2002 on XML and was well received. Now, I mean no disrespect to Leonardo, but I can tell you one thing, everyone left the meeting more confused about SOA than they were when they came in. FWIW, the handout he used is available at: http://www.lisug.org/SOAWebService0602.pdf -Walden
