By cutting and pasting, and trying it? By reading the code?
Suffice it to say that F4 brings it up, and mouse clicking on either of the "(F4)"s on the screen will pop it up, and mouse clicking on a date on the calendar will put the date in the field associated with the "(F4)" that one chose.
Its old code, and pretty stale. I believe I used it just once. No one will use this sort of solution on the green screen, hence my point: We are getting what we deserve.

Not to contest what you write, Trevor, but the use of a mouse and a calendar to select a date can be done fairly easily on a 5250 session.

I believe we are part of the problem of the attitude towards the System i because we refuse to introduce the newer techniques that are available to us. For some reason we equate the mouse with evilness, sloth, and bad practices.
