Jerry, Have her ask the medical college people, when they get new medical gadget, is the main concern how pretty the screens and the reports and the beeps are? Or is the main concern whether (1)it will help them do the job properly, (2) it will perform RELIABLY, (3) and ACCURATELY. And whether it counts for something to be an experienced surgeon, versus an intern? (By the way, you can put greenbar reports on laser printers, switch boom bam, just like that!) ---Alan -----Original Message----- [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of GKern@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx "this is a good subject for a Friday afternoon" How true. FYI, I've been forwarding most of this conversation to my wife. She's in charge of managing the migration of a pc/ms based software package into her i5 environment. Her project is due to the merger of the local medical college into the local university (now making our local university the third largest university in Ohio.) She asked me to put a post on midrange-l asking for the "elevator speech" about why the iSeries is not old technology. She had heard some concerns about "green bar" reports being "old technology" from the medical college people. You guys are doing a great job and giving me plenty of ammo to forward to her. The timing of this conversation couldn't be better. Oh and I also sent her a link to the IBM website with the laughing boardroom videos.
