That leaves a bad twinax adapter card. I have seen ports dropped before. It's rare, but it will happen. How many other devices are attached to port 0 ???? Are all other ports "reporting in" with attached devices ??? Have you attached the terminal and did a "cold start" IPL. This will often times correct small problems that might not be apparent during normal operations. You could have lost port 0 a while back and never noticed it if there are NO other devices attached to the port that would have failed. Pete Helgren wrote:
Thanks all.Still stumped. Many have mentioned that the upper right indicates no communication. Yep. Me too. I know that. However if the same three cables and three terminals work on two other machines with no problem, what does that leave in the mix? Having even swapped the "brick" I am guessing the failure is the card itself. But wouldn't a faulty card be reported on the system somewhere?Last night I decided to IPL in manual mode and I got SRC A600 5001 (predictably). Tried an IPL from CD thinking maybe somewhere there was a setting that was causing the console not to come up. Can't force this thing to see the console.Tonight I'll try pulling the card and re-seating it though I still think that the system configuration is somehow at the heart of the problem (although just how that is possible, I don't know). Also, I'll blow the dust off the wrap plug and see if I can get to the bottom of this.Console worked about 3 months ago when I applied a CUME and Group PTF's. Don't know why it would decide to NOT connect now.As far as I know I don't have an alternative console option on this machine. Pete
