John,
You do not need to do anything special.
If you are not using volume names in your SAVxx command, you do not need any
special volume id's for the tape. The next tape loaded in the carosel will be
mounted when the active tape reaches the end of volume.

We are using a 3581 L23 tape drive on an 810 V5R2. Dumb question coming,
when we installed it, I'm sure we used the auto config. This drive holds 6
tapes. Is there anything additional you need to do if you are doing a go
save 21 so that it automatically goes to a second loaded tape if need be. We
don't use any tape management system. Do the tapes need to be initialized
with the same volume name?
