Yes. Also happens if superseded PTFs are permanently applied during the load.

Now, not only do I need to delete left over save files from some releases
ago, but now I also have to look for stream files with ./PTF-ID PRD-ID
PRD-OPT RLS-MOD LOD-ID OPT/SEQ on the end?  Yee haw!

Probably. I'd expect the recovery files to exist if the PTF save files also exist.
