Thanks Rob, Chad, et al on the FAQ.Just a clarification This will be a Do it Yourself procedure so do I understand that I have to force the failure first, using SST (or DST) in order to make sure that the change is "registered" (my term)? IOW, I first force the failure (while in a restricted state) and THEN replace the battery pack?
Just want to make sure. I was just in DST but I couldn't see an option to force the failure and the help on BATTERYINFO was non-existent.
Just hope my local Radio Shack or battery place can match the pack. Plenty of posts here about that. Didn't see a specific reference to a model 800 (controller is a 5703) but it looks like the battery pack isn't all that hard to match.

I don't think you'll lose any data. But performance will suffer greatly. One thing I have schedule to run about a week prior to scheduled downtime (have to give the CE time to order parts and schedule) ishttp://faq.midrange.com/data/cache/418.html Rob Berendt
