I should have been more clear. Unlike 3rd party DASD for the i5 (AS400,iSeries) which requires an emulation of a specific IBM drive, you can pretty much use any SCSI disk or tape with a p5. It's not restricted by IBM. Whether you buy cheap or quality storage is a decision you make on it's own merits.
