I'd pick something small and back that up first. Optical drive performance is pathetic. You may wish to look at V5R4's virtual tape. To get a good estimate of the size of your IFS I suggest running RTVDSKINF (must be run in batch) and then PRTDSKINF *SYS for the summary. A vast majority of our space used is in the IFS. Only about 10% is used by the operating system and all of our ERP, payroll, etc combined. Rob Berendt
