The Fortran compiler on the 400 was from Ryan McFarland I think (a lot of
brain cells have died since then).  The move to Risc killed it if I recall -
RM weren't prepared to make the port unless IBM paid and there were so few
licenses that IBM weren't interested.  Unlike PL/I (and shortly S/36 and
S/38 RPG) I don't believe it was ever available as a PRPQ.
