Trevor - conversion is the only option. COBOL may be a better candidate than RPG in this case since Fortran programs often make use of multi-dimensional arrays. COBOL COMPUTE and RPG EVAL are equally efficient so that is not an issue. COBOL data structures will have a more obvious one-to-one mapping than RPG but these days there's not a lot of difference, and the customer will have both compilers anyway.
