I don't know much about JDE, but we did a pretty extensive evaluation of Intermec, LXE, and Teklogix and ended up choosing Teklogix. It's been VERY reliable once we put in place... good stuff. They had a good setup where they use a proprietary 5250 type protocol they call TESS... in addition, the wireless APs can act as 'mini-controllers' that help control the 5250 session reliability. Your requirements will probably very, but we've had very good results. pnelson@xxxxxxxxx m Sent by: To midrange-l-bounce midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx s@xxxxxxxxxxxx cc Subject 02/01/2006 08:28 Recommendations for Bar code AM scanners Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@midra nge.com> One of my clients is running JDE World, and is heading down the path to implement hand held bar code scanners, or possibly even RFID scanners. Does anybody have a recommendation regarding this type of equipment, and does anybody know if these devices might be available with a built-in or easily programmable interface to JDE?
