we are evaluating symbol scanners at the moment. they are pretty good. the only 
thing i don't like about the model we have here is, that the java support is 
not that good, so i have to write my apps with C# and even then there is no 
full support for all functions (f.e. wlan).

so i think it depends on the requirements. do you need to write your own app 
for the scanner?
