Why not get local businesses involved and offer internships at iSeries
shops...or something like that? Why wouldn't companies start in-house training
for their iSeries folks, start at operations and work into programming? What
do they have to lose?

Bingo Trevor!

Well, education seems to be the key here, Trevor.

Frankly, what education IS current IT getting?? Once again, let's rehash
this again as IBM still doesn't get it. Students in ANY IT ciriculum today
are being forced Window and Unix dialects, databases, IDE's, languages,
methods.... That's what they learn in school. That's the ONLY
talent/knowledge base they bring to the market place. That's what they
want to buy/work with/hire/promote/etc....

Gee, is there any question why we're seeing what we are??
