Hi Doug

The PDF Tool Kit, PDFTK[1], was mentioned last time as another open
source pdf splitter & merger, as well as allowing security to be
added. It's a command line tool, but there is a Windows GUI
available[2]. What makes it interesting is that it's based on the Java
iText[3] library so you should be able to get that functionality
native on the iSeries.

I also mentioned @riadne's CoolSpools[5] which now ships with a MRGPDF
command, a well as allowing spool files to be merged at conversion
stage (plus adding images, watermarks, security etc). More & more of
our customers are wanting documents in electronic form, so tools like
these have been very useful.

If you're interested in doing more with PDFs then you might like to
check out PDF Hacks[4] by the author of PDFTK - I've found it very
useful.

For creating PDFs on Windows, PDFCreator[6] is very good, which
combined with GUIPDFTK makes building & collating PDFs very easy - our
users really like them.

Regards, Martin
