Ed,

Do you really think you'll need an LPAR?   Even though I'm a strong
proponent of LPARs (we have three not including the controlling LPAR and
we are looking into a fourth), it appears that you could access your
existing iSeries using a 5250 emulator for your special use while others
are accessing it via batch processes or Java applications.   Perhaps I
don't understand.
