ScottAt the risk of being a bit picky, the WRDWRAP feature works on "controllers that support an enhanced interface for nonprogrammable workstations", according to the DDS manual. PC5250 (hence, iSeries Access emulation) generally emulates that interface, AFAIK.
The technique to which Shannon referred seems useful, as it rewrites the screen when the end of a line is reached. I just wonder whether OVRDTA would help performance-wise, although less of an issue these days.

Word wrap pretty much has to be implemented in the emulator itself. All the iSeries can really do is send a signal to it that says "hey emulator! You should use word wrap on this field!". (Which is what the WRDWRAP keyword does.)And, of course, the emulator developers must all copy what IBM did when they wrote PC5250, or the customers will claim that it's "wrong." So you're pretty much stuck with the WRDWRAP the way it is until IBM changes it in iSeries Access!Naturally, it's not a problem if you use other interfaces (GUI or Web) -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
