Here's my opinion of the four choices: HMC = sweet - you can even remote console if you set it up right Twinax = thick gangly cables, but rarely fails (and on the way out) LAN console = BLECCH!!!!! Ops console = BLECCH!!!!! I often think that the people who designed the HMC wanted it to be thought of not only as the Hardware Management Console, but the Heavenly Marshmallow Creampuff. I really haven't had any issues lately with the HMC locking up. Since you have to have an HMC anyway for an i5 with multiple i5/OS partitions, why not use it for the console? You already have the maintenance required to sync HMC code, FSP firmware, hardware and i5/OS so that's taken out of the equation.
