What would you fax (etc) if your hardware was down?  Most of that stuff 
would be stored on your i5.  If it's down, it's down.

As far as communcations go - get multiple lines.  One to your local telco. 
 And then another one to bypass it.  For example our wireless tower to one 
of our plants 30 miles away.  That should cover the moron with the 
trenching tool down the street.

For a quote, try suggesting a Mimix or iTera solution at an offsite 
location.  Granted, it probably won't be the low-ball solution but when it 
hits the fan do you want to be the one who says the backup solution is to 
fax stuff to the backup place.  When:
1 - You can't fax because your lines are down
2 - Or you can't fax because the report is still in the i5, and that went 
casters up.
