<i do not want to be inflammatory...but ...> I just hope (in the future) that IBM keeps a high level of iSeries knowledge in their support center. My customers have been sold on the concept of superior support for iSeries software & hardware. I have already hadsome VERY BAD experiences with support calls (a year ago) where I had to spell many of the words I was saying (and I'm told I have a very plain, clear, no accent, English voice), and define for the operator what a PTF was (having been routed by a previous
support person into a phone-tree *ell). It also took many calls to straighten out IBM GLobal Finance's recent move of certain payment processing to "somewhere". I had other companies payments applied to my account, an attempt to write me a check for a big credit (not mine) and much chaos. It took some wonderful people in Atlanta to fix. If I took my customers thru such a conversion I would be fired.... I do now watch my bank acct much closer, with potential foreign centers drafting and processing IBM's payment. It could happen here or there, but I trust the laws
here much more... jim----- Original Message ----- From: "Ron Adams" <rondadams@xxxxxxxxx>

I was told by my BP who sold us our 520, that license keys and PTF deliviries are starting to move overseas, specifically, she mentioned Denmark, but to not be surprised if I got packages from other countries. Basically, and this is my own speculation, IBM is moving jobs to other countries as it makes business sense. Or, to put it bluntly, they're reducing costs, cutting US jobs, and employing foreign workers who can work for less. On 11/17/05, Phil Groschwitz <ssc1478@xxxxxxx> wrote:
