We have a simple product that does this, called DataTransfer/400. There is a library on the iSeries and clients that speak to it. Downloads can go to CSV, Excel, dBase, MS Access, and delimited. Transfer setup can be saved and run from the saved file. It sends an SQL statement up to the iSeries. Once set up, no need to know SQL. Product downloadable from www.rjssoftware.com for evaluation - you'll need to contact us for download password and license key on iSeries. Unlimited clients, AFAIK. I don't have the price here at home. 952.898.3038 during business hours.

There's always Excel and the iSeries Access download add-ins. They are a licensed part of Access, of course. That's a per/client license at c. $300 per.

You might look at Surveyor from www.linomasoftware.com - it used to be free for single user, but corporate use would cost something.

Hi all,

I have a request from a customer for a simple to use PC product for
extracting data from 1 or many iSeries tables and mapping/selecting fields
to a text file or other PC data format types like .csv.

Cheers
