I suspect the levels of effort are similar, but I don't know AFP so I
can't say.  There are two books that I'm aware of and have used.
PostScript by Example, and the Adobe PostScript Language Reference (The
so-called 'Red Book').

I suppose so. I would love to have iseries ps2pdf, but I haven't pursued
it.  I can't seem to figure out what PASE is and how to use it, though I
haven't bothered.

I've got the blue book and I can and have written RPG code to generate
some simple PDF's.  Nothing fancy.  I haven't done it much because I use
the linux ps2pdf whenever I need it.
