In this case it's 5.0 WAS supporting 5.1 portal (that's what IBM claimed at least) but yes, obviously the LPP needs to be installed before you can PTF it. However, these are OS/400 PTFs, so I've been told, not LPP PTFs. LPP PTFs shouldn't require an IPL, should they? I guess I've got two issues w/this. First is that the install requires an IPL at all -- but ok, I'll accept that. The second is that IBM can't provide the PTFs ahead of time so we can install them on an already scheduled IPL.
