So while the 400 is doing its thing, you busy on some other thing, like paperwork, or studying a program to modify, or whatever, and you look at the screen every few minutes to see if it has stopped again to wait on some response from you. The first time you run thru this, for each screen you will have to study the documentation, what the heck does this mean, what choices make sense.
So figure on the first time you do this, the backup will take 2-3 times longer than if you save the whole thing.
I advise you to save the whole darn thing and not take on these additional headaches.
Where does this show up on the screen? If I say Y on prompt for commands, is that how I'll get the screen that lets me type in the libraries to be omitted? -----Original Message----- From: Al Barsa The libraries to be omitted are put in the OMITLIB parameter. There are some data libraries we back up every night and therefore don't need to include in the save. I know there's a way to omit libraries from this backup and you do it by prompting it somehow, but for the life of me I can't remember the how to sequence. Can anyone help me out?
