Hi EvanA small thing, maybe, but I can load all the CDs into a PTF image catalog, then fire it off and not have to be there to load the next one in.
The other is that you don't need to have physical CDs - if you can tolerate the download time, get the PTFs through FTP and load the image catalog from the downloaded images. I do not recommend this with CUMEs, as the download time is almost as long as getting the CDs delivered.
I find I like getting pre & coreqs when using the FTP method - helps assure getting what is needed. So this, in combination with image catalogs, is a useful strategy.

HI VernTaking into account the fact that you can apply PTF's delayed, why do you see Image catalogs as handy for PTF installation other than as part of an OS upgrade ? I'm just curious as to whether there might be an additional benefit I have missed somewhere :)Regards Evan Harris At 12:15 p.m. 28/09/2005, you wrote:Good to hear, Antonio. Image catalogs are a very nice way to do upgrades and put on PTFs.Good luck Vern-- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
