Ohhh ... I didn't mean to say it would be easy since most of those programs are on "cards", but the base line code would still work. Yep..the S/38 compiled code is still quite a trick. Douglas Handy wrote:

Constrasted with programs compiled 25 years ago for the S/38, where unless you intentionally removed observability, will not only run on current RISC hardware, but does so natively without having to go through a thunking layer or 16-bit subsystem or anything. What is amazing on the 38/400 is how the hardware has changed and even compiled programs continue to take advantage of the hardware advances. Doug
