Thanks for the offer, but I'm really more of a bystander on this one, just watch the trainwreck in slow motion. We have more folks addressing the technical issues than we can find desks for. What I'm more interested in is what sort of experiences have others had in going to the new boxes like the 570. So far, no one is talking about that.

Being that you've had a lot of experts looking at this, not sure if I'd be
just repeating the same, but...

* Memory
You mention page faulting but not how much memory you have, if you've
upgraded this as well when you went to 570, how much of it is allocated to
the pools where these batch jobs are running, etc.
* Journaling
You don't mention if files that batch jobs are working on are journaled or
not. Journaling can bite you unless implemented with care. Checkout
redbook "Striving for optimal journal performance".

* Hardware
This is the topic I know least about, but I do recall that if some cache
batteries go kaput, things slow down. Check the archive, there was a lot on
this topic.

Company I work for offers a tech-call service for situations like this so
you may want to email comptechcall@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Not sure if
anything you haven't already heard would pop-up, but there's no charge for
it so it may be worth a try.
