>I know we should all be religious about daily backups, >but since this is a home office machine, most of the >time it just doesn't happen on a daily basis... Why not? Automate it. You have a PC in this home office, right? On the iSeries save a library to a savf and push that savf to the PC -- repeat for each library you care about. We're done out iSeries backups that way for years -- and even restored from them -- and it works like a champ. Actually in our case all our PCs backup to a common PC hard drive and then that PC pushes it's data out to tape. You don't need the tape step and it will still work fine. This won't protect you from the "house burns down" incident, but it will help when a drive goes south. -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III Tech Software (516) 627-3800 x11 WaldenL@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.TechSoftInc.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur.
