Why not? Automate it. You have a PC in this home office, right? On the
iSeries save a library to a savf and push that savf to the PC -- repeat
for each library you care about. We're done out iSeries backups that way
for years -- and even restored from them -- and it works like a champ.
Actually in our case all our PCs backup to a common PC hard drive and
then that PC pushes it's data out to tape. You don't need the tape step
and it will still work fine.

This won't protect you from the "house burns down" incident, but it will
help when a drive goes south.
