Since a couple of people have asked "What is the enterprise data
library" I figured I'd follow-up with a description and a couple of
links.

"The patterns & practices Enterprise Library is a library of application
blocks designed to assist developers with common enterprise development
challenges. Application blocks are a type of guidance, provided as
source code that can be used "as is," extended, or modified by
developers to use on enterprise development projects. Enterprise Library
features new and updated versions of application blocks that were
previously available as stand-alone application blocks. All Enterprise
Library application blocks have been updated with a particular focus on
consistency, extensibility, ease of use, and integration."

"This page provides an overview of the Enterprise Library Data Access
Application Block. This is reusable and extensible source code-based
guidance that simplifies development of common data access functionality
in .NET-based applications."

-Care to Beta?

Since IBM hasn't created a iSeries class factory for the .NET Enterprise
Data Library yet, I have. If you'd like to try using the Enterprise
Library Data Application Block with an iSeries provider drop me a line.
Oh, and um, "Beta" testers might be a little generous, this is more like
Alpha.
