Bet Mark can sell you a RAID controller for your 520 for less than 5700.
That is if you do not mind an older, slower RAID card that is used. $5700
is for the new higher end RAID card but you can put older cards into the 520
such as the 2741 or 2778. The 2780 is the expensive one and the 2778 if
from the 8xx series while the 2741 is from the 7xx. If you order without
raid, you use the imbedded controller which has no cache. It is extremely
slow. Get a used 2778 for about $900 and move the cable to that. Even if
you do not RAID, you will have much better drive performance. The 2780 is
faster yet and hot pluggable. (But you loose all the drive while you swap
the cards.)

Thanks, Chris! But I'm not planning on RAIDing the 270. The $5700 was
the list price for the RAID feature on the 520 Express boxes (well,
technically it's the difference in price between the RAID and non-RAID
editions).
