You will need the HMC for the 570 if it has LPAR's, which yours does. That comes with remote capability. Are all the 170's at different locations? If not, why not move them to one machine and lpar it? We were decentralized. Then we moved all of our machines to one location and put them on one box. (twas a bit of work because this was pre lpar days.) Our users got better response time, even with the communications involved, because they moved from underpowered machines to some serious iron. Now, if your remote sites are only connected with two dixie cups and a string your experience may differ. Rob Berendt
