The irony of this thread is the lack of Java vs. .Net discussion. There's been a lot of verbal smoke screening, which is confusing the reader, and attempts to clear the air. There's been quite a bit of dancing around the topic of market share and the peripheral of: - Microsoft vs. IBM - MS SQL Server vs. i5 DB2 - MS SQL Server vs. MySQL - Windows vs. OS/400 - Proprietary vs. Open Where are the comparisons and contrasts between Java and .Net?
