>And the direction changes completely every four or five years. Really. OK, in fairness there have been 2 directions in the history of MS. First was ASP, the second was ASP.NET. Are there other "options" like ISAPI? Sure, but MS is very clear that these exist to do things that are not supported or easy in ASP or ASP.NET. ISAPI doesn't exist to write your business application. >Where are you getting your numbers about the >number of companies running their business on SQL Server? Who said anything about SQLServer? Not me. And yes, I'd bet there are more installs of SQLServer than OS/400. But I was referring to Windows in general. Is you data in DB2/400? MS says "use ASP.NET" Is your data in Oracle? MS says "use ASP.NET" Is your data in SQLServer? MS says "use ASP.NET" Is your data in MySQL? MS says "use ASP.NET". See a pattern? Oh, and want a Web Service? Guess what, MS says, "use ASP.NET". >There is a single, official way to get to the web on the iSeries: JSP on >WebSphere. OK. Then why is IBM spending money on HATS? On WebFacing? On iSeries Access for the Web? And if these aren't "official" directions, then why is IBM paying to send their people to user groups to teach about using them? IBM, please, cut the crap and provide some direction. -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III Tech Software (516) 627-3800 x11 WaldenL@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.TechSoftInc.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur.
