Funny you should mention that. When we were still trying to get the applications that were tying up both drives on the one 3582 we were using a 3581 as a MLB. You know, configured as TAPMLB10 versus TAP10. And set up in Random mode and not sequential. Worked pretty good loading up a few days at once. Although we couldn't load up a whole week like the 3582. And again, it would take the tapes in alphabetical order regardless of how they were physically loaded. Sounds like you could have ran both the holiday and the next day if you could have loaded both tapes and not skipped a backup. And, when it comes to holiday weekends, FRI001 comes before MON001 which comes before TUE001 (in the alphabet) so you get lucky that way. Tossing THU001 into the mix may cause some confusion (if you stick with that naming convention). But your expiration process may handle this. Sounds like there are only a few minor operational differences between BRMS and TSM. The biggest conceptual difference being BRMS is normally used for data stored on the server itself. TSM is used for backing up other servers on to i5 disk and/or tape. Rob Berendt
