Stephen Covey's "Seven Basic Habits of Highly Effective People" speaks of the "circle of influence" versus the "circle of concern". Nice to see you try to expand your circle of influence to try to help operations diagnose a problem but there comes a time when you have to say "not my problem". I'm on your side and it would have come in handy several times but I can get into enough trouble without complaining about my lack of authority. Or is it really a policy that you are not even supposed to execute that command? I don't want to get you in trouble but I can't see the business case for that. Unless it's something weird like "Cool, Americredit isn't running ptf SI...... That means I can go to their website do this and DOS their system." I can't look at the PTF's but the operations group is pretty good at keeping us current, especially when we have issues like this. I would presume we are current. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of rob@xxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, May 18, 2005 9:07 AM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: Re: V5R3 Performance Issue Sorry. Since then one of our nightly critical path jobs has more than doubled in run time. Operations has been working with another team member on finding the issue but they haven't been successful yet. It appears to be in an RPG program with embedded SQL. I know there is at least one other job using QM queries that has also seen a two fold increase in run time. It's not in the critical path so it isn't an issue at this time. Has anyone else experienced anything like this with V5R3?
