Last post for now. I got a nudge in on James, and I'll answer this.
Then I have to get ready to go present some seminars.

I've created some simple JavaScript functions that can be easily
attached to input fields to define their characteristics, in effect
acting as a keyboard shift code. For example, decimal fields only allow
digits, "." and "-". The function simply ignores any non-numeric data.
I can, if desired, pop up an alert on bad data, but as it turns out,
most users don't like that (I wish I could do a beep, but it turns out
that is one of the harder things to do in JavaScript -- any advice there
would be most helpful!). I use a variation of the function to turn
lowercase to uppercase. This is all quite easy in IE, not so easy
(particularly the lower to upper) in Mozilla.

Joe
