Rob, You wrote: " Do you mean: "Has anyone did an unload/reload from an 830 to a 570, which had IXS cards, and if so, were they able to get the IXS cards to come up after the restore and work just fine?" If so, the answer is yes, but some manipulation was necessary." The answer is yes. What manipulation? Do the IXS operating systems and applications appear and work as they did? I hope a total reinstall is not needed as that would eliminate any benefit of blade servers as far as backup and recovery are concerned. What are the steps? What are your experiences? Is the Redbook one person suggested the best set of "instructions". I thought I'd try these instructions and restore a backup of our Production LPAR to one of our Test LPARs and see what happens, what it takes, and time frame to restore. Only then do I think I'd have a true answer for the business when they ask "How long would it take for us to recover from a disaster?" What about if I'd like to go from an 825 with 4 blades to another 825 with 4 blades? What if you didn't have all four blades on the target 825 or 570? Thanks much, Dave
