To add to another post, NetServer provides Windows networking capability for the iSeries. That means you can map network drives and network printers to shares on the iSeries. Creating the shares is done, usually, with iSeries Navigator, which is part of iSeries Access (the software formerly known as Client Access formerly known as PC Support). You can STRTCPSVR *NETSVR to activate NetServer. More information can be had at http://www.iseries.ibm.com/netserver Then you can install the client stuff by going to the QIBM share that is predefined \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\qibm\ProdData\CA400\Express\Install\Image Replace the x's with the IP address of your iSeries. There is a SETUP.EXE in that folder. The only bits that are not free with iSeries Access are 5250 emulation and data transfer. Everything else is free to use - and, of course, take up all kinds of room on your PC. You can't install only ODBC - you also have to take Navigator and other stuff. But the client stuff is "free" when you've otherwise bought the iSeries Access licensed product ($11,000 list for a P10 last November).
