I have a model 720, V5R2M0 that I am about to scratch and reinstall the OS on (as soon as I figure out how to do that), but I am a little concerned that I don't currently get a signon screen on a 3476 terminal that is attached. I get the cursor moving from the right to left. A device description is created, the status goes to Varied ON, and the controller becomes active, but I never get a signon screen. Before I torch this thing I want to make sure I'll get a console and a signon.

I tried different terminals (I have three) and a couple of different cables, but still no luck.

This is a hand-me-down machine but I know that the controller and terminal worked.

Currently I access the machine using telnet but that won't work once I scratch install .

The Twinax controller is CTL02. Cable is in Port 0. Address on the terminal is 0. No messages are sent to Qsysopr....what am I missing?
