They aren't out of the question, but this is one of numerous tables that
we are doing transaction audits on, and we were hoping to keep them all
the same.  These are very simple triggers, so SQL is by far the most
expedient way to develop them.  I do realize that external trigger
programs would allow us to access the trigger buffer and see the member
name, but I guess we are a little stubborn!  Thanks for reminding me
that the solution is out there, though.

Jim, are external triggers out of the question? Are you trying to use
SQL triggers for cross-platform compatibility or something? Because, as
I bet you know, external triggers (those that do not use the SQL coding,
rather call standard RPG or C) can see the member information.
