At least with V5R3 iSeries Access, I have been able to do this just as Chris describes for web servers and other machines that strictly need database access. I wind up with ODBC, .NET, Ops Navigator and the other miscellaneous icons for the welcome center, selective setup, etc. No licensed programs and definitely not 5250 emulation. I would give it another shot. I thought I had tried that before and it installed 5250 as a "required program". > -----Original Message----- > From: Chris Bipes [mailto:chris.bipes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] > Sent: Thursday, April 21, 2005 12:00 PM > To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' > Subject: RE: Access iSeries from windows and odbc question > > You can put just the OBDC from Client Access onto a PC and do not need any > license.
