Zipping a file with the V5R3 *HIGH compression doesn't get you all that much. I've tried. They really enhanced it in V5R3. Why not just FTP the save file to a stream file on any system he chooses? It can always be FTP'd back, and it could even then be zipped which usually yields pretty good compression for save files.
