In V5R3 you can use new compression features like *HIGH.  Try using that 
and see if that helps reduce the transfer time, and disk space needed, on 
your V4R5 machine.

SAVF from V5R3 to V4R5






I want to FTP some nightly backup save files from a V5R3 system to one 
running V4R5.  They would not be restored to the V4R5 system, just be 
available there in the event that they need to be moved back to the V5R3 
system for recovery purposes.  Are there any version differences in the 
save files that I need to be aware of?
